Cultivating Community Through Local Food
Since 2012
The Okanagan Fruit Tree Project is a Registered Charity that operates in the Central and South Okanagan. We are all about building community through our local food system. We run a series of programs that help reduce food waste, increase stigma-free access to local produce for those experiencing marginalization, and support knowledge exchange around important food system issues. Our incredible volunteers grow and harvest fruits, vegetables and nuts through our farming and produce rescue programs. The harvest is then shared among our volunteers, schools, and social service organizations. We also use some of the produce we harvest to make products that we sell to raise funds for our charity! It’s a win-win-win-win for all involved!
