Cultivating Community Through Local Food
The Okanagan Fruit Tree Project is a Registered Charity that operates in the Central and South Okanagan. We are all about building community through our local food system. We run a series of programs that help reduce food waste, increase stigma-free access to local produce for those experiencing marginalization, and support knowledge exchange around important food system issues. Our incredible volunteers grow and harvest fruits, vegetables and nuts through our farming and produce rescue programs. The harvest is then shared among our volunteers, schools, and social service organizations. We also use some of the produce we harvest to make products that we sell to raise funds for our charity! It’s a win-win-win-win for all involved!
Pounds of produce harvested since 2012!!!
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer experience? Look no further! We offer flexible and fruitful ways to get involved.
Do you have extra produce? Don’t want it to go to waste? Find out how you can share your abundance with your community!
Would your organization benefit from fruits and vegetables donations? Help us spread the abundance within our community!
Every dollar donated equals a pound of produce shared with the community! That’s 2-3 servings of nutritious fruits and vegetables.
THANK YOU to our supporters. Our hearts are filled with Gratitude!
We acknowledge that we are situated on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan People. We recognize, honour and respect the presence of Indigenous people, past, present and future.
